The IETF NomCom, nominations committee, picks the IETF leadership (there are approvals, the process is a bit arcane :) Volunteering doesn’t mean you’ll get picked; volunteers are chosen at random. Not everyone in this WG would qualify, but if you do and you like the IETF, consider volunteering.
