[I18n-discuss] FYI: root zone LGR for Latin script proposal

 As you may know, ICANN has been working with script communities on defining the LGR (RFC 7940) of most used scripts for the root zone. Many scripts LGR  have gone through reviews and integrated into the current RZ-LGR version 4(https://www.icann.org/en/announcements/details/fourth-version-of-root-zone-label-generation-rules-rz-lgr-4-published-6-11-2020-en <https://www.icann.org/en/announcements/details/fourth-version-of-root-zone-label-generation-rules-rz-lgr-4-published-6-11-2020-en>). 

This email is a notification to the community that the Latin LGR proposal has been posted for comments: https://www.icann.org/en/public-comment/proceeding/proposal-for-latin-script-root-zone-label-generation-rules-23-09-2021 <https://www.icann.org/en/public-comment/proceeding/proposal-for-latin-script-root-zone-label-generation-rules-23-09-2021>.  Latin is a particular one as it includes the non-IDN code points therefore defining variants (and non-variants) with them. It also shares many variants with multiple scripts such as Greek, Armenian and Cyrillic. The community shall look at this carefully as it will later define what is possible to use in the root zone (e.g. as a TLD).  The deadline to submit a comment is November 23rd.
