PARC has submitted our CCNx protocol descriptions to the IETF tracker for the ICNRG working group.  Please see the links below.  The CCNx Semantics document contains a written protocol description of messages and how a system should process those messages.  The CCNx Messages document describes how they are encoded in TLV format.  Those are the two core documents.

We have broken out other name-based protocols, such as versioning and chunking, in their own protocol specifications.  Our reason for this is that one could come up with other ways of doing those things and not affect the core protocols.

PARC has several other specifications available on our web site, ccnx.org, that we have not yet submitted.  We expect to eventually submit them all, but for now we submitted what we consider the more essential specifications.
