No, IMAP and JMAP are not SMTP.

Keeping in mind that at this point nobody currently uses Expired: in
mail, if you think you can make a case that an IMAP or JMAP keyword would be
useful, write up a draft.

It happens that the JMAP session at IETF 115 starts in about an hour and a half.
I can ask if anyone's interested, or if you're registered remotely, you can.
