The IESG has approved the Internet-Draft 'FTP Extensions for IPv6'
<draft-ietf-ftpext-ftp-over-ipv6-03.txt> as a Proposed Standard. This
document is the product of the Extensions to FTP Working Group. The
IESG contact persons are Keith Moore and Patrik Faltstrom.

Technical Summary

This is an extension to FTP to allow it to work with IPv6.
Unlike FOOBAR [RFC1639], it also works over NATs, including
 IPv4 NATs.

Working Group Summary

This started out as a much more elaborate proposal. After
feedback from the working group, it was considerably simplified.
It is usable with other transport protocols besides TCP/IPv4
and TCP/IPv6, should the need arise.

Protocol Quality

Keith Moore reviewed the spec for IESG.

Note to RFC Editor:

The document title should be: FTP Extensions for IPv6 and NATs
