A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.

Title : E.164 number and DNS
	Author(s)	: P. Faltstrom
	Filename	: draft-faltstrom-e164-04.txt
	Pages : 17
	Date : 21-Oct-99

This document discusses the use of DNS for storage of E.164 numbers.
More specifically, how DNS can be used for identifying available
services. It also, for some of these services, discusses how
selection is done between listed destinations. Specifically it
presents a way of implementing portable phone numbers, where the
services used can be the H.323 protocol, SIP, POTS phone call or
SMTP. Routing of the actual call setup using the protocol selected
using these methods is not discussed.
Discussion on this Internet-Draft is to be held on the mailing list
ietf-e164-dns@imc.org, which is hosted by the Internet Mail
Consortium. To subscribe, send an email to
ietf-e164-dns-request@imc.org, with the text 'subscribe' as the only
word in the body of the mail. There is an archive of the mailing
list at <http://www.imc.org/ietf-e164-dns/>.

Internet-Drafts can also be obtained by e-mail.

Send a message to:
	mailserv@ietf.org.
In the body type:
	"FILE /internet-drafts/draft-faltstrom-e164-04.txt".

NOTE:	The mail server at ietf.org can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e. documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
	how to manipulate these messages.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the
Internet-Draft.
