The IESG recommends that 'Limited IP Header Compression over PPP' <draft-jurski-pppext-iphc-02.txt> NOT be published as an an Informational RFC. The IESG contact person is Jari Arkko. A URL of this Internet-Draft is: http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-jurski-pppext-iphc-02.txt The process for such documents is described at http://www.rfc-editor.org/indsubs.html. Thank you, The IESG Secretary Technical Summary This specification extends the negotiation capabilities related to IP header compression over PPP links. Working Group Summary The specification is not a product of an IETF Working Group. It has been discussed in PPPEXT WG, where the motivation for an extension like this was questioned. Protocol Quality Jari Arkko has reviewed this specification for the IESG. Opinions were solicited from the PPPEXT WG chair (James Carlson) and responsible AD (Mark Townsley) in preparing the IESG response. Note to RFC Editor Not applicable, see below. IESG Note The IESG believes that note #4 from RFC 3932 applies: The IESG thinks that this document violates IETF procedures for IP Header Compression Configuration Option Suboption Types allocation defined in RFC 3544 and should therefore not be published without IETF review and IESG approval. _______________________________________________ IETF-Announce mailing list IETF-Announce@ietf.org https://www1.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/ietf-announce
