A new Request for Comments is now available in online RFC libraries. RFC 3788 Title: Security Considerations for Signaling Transport (SIGTRAN) Protocols Author(s): J. Loughney, M. Tuexen, Ed., J. Pastor-Balbas Status: Standards Track Date: June 2004 Mailbox: john.loughney@nokia.com, tuexen@fh-muenster.de, j.javier.pastor@ericsson.com Pages: 13 Characters: 27125 Updates/Obsoletes/SeeAlso: None I-D Tag: draft-ietf-sigtran-security-03.txt URL: ftp://ftp.rfc-editor.org/in-notes/rfc3788.txt This document discusses how Transport Layer Security (TLS) and IPsec can be used to secure communication for SIGTRAN protocols. The main goal is to recommend the minimum security means that a SIGTRAN node must implement in order to attain secured communication. The support of IPsec is mandatory for all nodes running SIGTRAN protocols. TLS support is optional. This document is a product of the Signaling Transport Working Group of the IETF. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol. This document specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for improvements. Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet Official Protocol Standards" (STD 1) for the standardization state and status of this protocol. Distribution of this memo is unlimited. This announcement is sent to the IETF list and the RFC-DIST list. Requests to be added to or deleted from the IETF distribution list should be sent to IETF-REQUEST@IETF.ORG.
