A new IETF non-working group email list has been created.

List address: green-bof@ietf.org
Archive: https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/browse/green-bof/
To subscribe: https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/green-bof

Purpose:
This short-term mailing list is for BoF preparation and charter related discussions for holding a WG forming BoF, with the idea of forming a Green networking WG. The WG is anticipated to be focused on work achievable in the short term, e.g., energy related terminology and definitions (that should try and leverage and reference existing definitions from existing published sources), reporting energy and sustainability at the device and network layer via operational YANG models, and to facilitate configuration or YANG RPCs to influence and optimise power usage on network devices. Longer term energy efficiency and Green networking goals are intended to be out of scope for the proposed WG’s initial charter, and should be discussed as part of the E-Impact IAB program.
