A new Request for Comments is now available in online RFC libraries. RFC 9268 Title: IPv6 Minimum Path MTU Hop-by-Hop Option Author: B. Hinden, G. Fairhurst Status: Experimental Stream: IETF Date: August 2022 Mailbox: bob.hinden@gmail.com, gorry@erg.abdn.ac.uk Pages: 20 Updates/Obsoletes/SeeAlso: None I-D Tag: draft-ietf-6man-mtu-option-15.txt URL: https://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc9268 DOI: 10.17487/RFC9268 This document specifies a new IPv6 Hop-by-Hop Option that is used to record the Minimum Path MTU (PMTU) along the forward path between a source host to a destination host. The recorded value can then be communicated back to the source using the return Path MTU field in the Option. This document is a product of the IPv6 Maintenance Working Group of the IETF. EXPERIMENTAL: This memo defines an Experimental Protocol for the Internet community. It does not specify an Internet standard of any kind. Discussion and suggestions for improvement are requested.
