This document provides procedures for registering extensible elements
of the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).  The document also
provides guidelines to the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA)
describing conditions under which new values can be assigned.  This document specifies an Internet Best Current Practices for the
Internet Community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
improvements.

This document is a product of the LDAP (v3) Revision
Working Group of the IETF.

This announcement is sent to the IETF list and the RFC-DIST list.
