 A Revised Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
 directories.

       Title : Tag Distribution Protocol
       Author(s) : P. Doolan, B. Davie, D. Katz,
                   Y. Rekhter, E. Rosen
       Filename : draft-doolan-tdp-spec-01.txt

An overview of a tag switching architecture is provided in [Rekhter].
This document defines the Tag Distribution Protocol (TDP) referred to
in [Rekhter].

TDP is a two party protocol that runs over a connection oriented transport
layer with guaranteed sequential delivery. Tag Switching Routers use TDP
to communicate tag binding information to their peers. TDP supports
multiple network layer protocols including but not limited to IPv4,
IPv6, IPX and AppleTalk.

We define here the PDUs and operational procedures for this TDP and specify
its transport requirements. We also define aspects of the protocol that are
specific to the case where it is run over an ATM datalink.

Send a message to: mailserv@ds.internic.net. In the body type:
     "FILE /internet-drafts/draft-doolan-tdp-spec-01.txt".

NOTE: The mail server at ds.internic.net can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e., documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
      how to manipulate these messages.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version
of the Internet-Draft.
