Re: Last Call: Introducing a Directory Service to BCP

     I support the publication of this document as a BCP. The rationale is 
     as follows:
     
     i) this is a high quality document
     
     ii) it is derived from experimental evidence
     
     iii) it represents the best available information to date about 
     installing a Directory Service.
     
     
     This is not to say that the document is perfect, and of course, in 
     time better procedures and tools may exist, but for the present it 
     does represent a good starting point for implementors.

The IESG has received a request from the Integrated Directory Services 
Working Group to consider "Introducing a Directory Service" 
<draft-ietf-ids-x500-intro-dir-00.txt> for the status of BCP.
     
The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits 
final comments on this action. Please send any comments to the 
[e-mail] or [e-mail] mailing lists by 
December 26, 1995.
