A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories. Title : Integrated Services over Token Ring Networks Author(s) : A. Ghanwani, J. Pace, V. Srinivasan Filename : draft-ghanwani-istr-00.txt Pages : 6 Date : 06/11/1996 The RSVP and Integrated Services working groups have been working towards the goal of an "Integrated Services Internet" where applications can request a Quality of Service (QoS) from the network in order to meet their end-to-end service requirements. This document reviews various issues related to supporting Integrated Service models over token ring networks. It also describes features of token ring networks that can be leveraged to provide QoS guarantees. It is intended as a starting point for building an architectural framework to support these services in token ring environments. Internet-Drafts are available by anonymous FTP. Send a message to: mailserv@ds.internic.net. In the body type: "FILE /internet-drafts/draft-ghanwani-istr-00.txt". NOTE: The mail server at ds.internic.net can return the document in MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE" command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with "multipart" MIME messages (i.e., documents which have been split up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on how to manipulate these messages. For questions, please mail to Internet-Drafts@cnri.reston.va.us. Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the Internet-Draft.
