I have been lurking here, reading the debate over the appropriation
of the word "Directory", apparently by OSI, and trying not to laugh
	my fool head off.

Think about this: a certain company is now succesfully gaining
customers (DEC customers!) by advertising their product as an
_alternative_to_OSI_. People are paying cash on the barrelhead
to _avoid_ OSI networking, even in situations where they would
be getting it essentially for _free_. Deny it if you will, it is
the truth whether anyone admits it or not!

Perhaps the attitudes shown here are the reason.

Incidentally, I find that I have to use the full name "Microsoft
Word" rather than "Word" to be clearly understood by my users,
who are not computerphiles but simply tool-users.
