  The IESG has approved the Internet-Draft "RPCSEC_GSS Protocol
  Specification" <draft-ietf-oncrpc-rpcsec_gss-05.txt> as a Proposed
  Standard. This document is the product of the ONC Remote Procedure Call
  Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Scott Bradner and Allyn
  Romanow.

Technical Summary

  This document describes an ONC/RPC security service that allows RPC
  protocols (defined in RFC 1831) to access the IETF Generic Security
  Services Application Programming Interface (GSS-API) (defined in
  RFC2078).  It describes the protocol used by the RPCSEC_GSS security
  flavor.
