Hi. As you may remember, IESG has been asked to consider
"Telnet Com Port Control Option" <draft-clark-telnet-control-05.txt>
as a Proposed Standard protocol. However, there is a competing proposal in
"Telnet Remote Serial Port (RSP) Option" <draft-barnes-telnet-rsp-opt-00.txt>.
(please note that the latter draft is a revision of an earlier proposal
by Murray Bennett, also of Stallion technologies.)

IESG therefore wishes to determine whether there is community consensus
to favor one of these, over the other one, by choosing it as a Proposed
Standard. The other document could still be published as Informational
or Experimental status.

The alternative would be to publish both documents with either
Experimental or Informational status.
