 A Revised Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
 directories.

Title : Network Security For Trade Shows
       Author(s) : A. Gwinn
       Filename : draft-rfced-info-gwinn-01.txt
       Pages : 9
       Date : 06/03/1997

This draft is designed to assist vendors and other participants in trade
shows, such as Networld+Interop, in designing effective protection against
network and system attacks by unauthorized individuals. Generally, it has
been observed that many system administrators and trade show coordinators
tend to overlook the importance of system security at trade shows. In fact,
systems at trade shows are at least as prone to attack as office-based
platforms. Trade show systems should be treated as seriously as an office
computer. A breach of security of a trade show system can render -- and has
rendered -- an exhibitor's demonstrations inoperable -- sometimes for the
entire event!

This draft is not intended to replace the multitudes of comprehensive books
on the subject of Internet security. Rather, its purpose is to provide
a checklist-style collection of frequently overlooked, simple ways
to minimize the chance of a costly attack. We encourage exhibitors
to pay special attention to this document and share it with all
associated representatives.

Send a message to: mailserv@ds.internic.net. In the body type:
     "FILE /internet-drafts/draft-rfced-info-gwinn-01.txt".

NOTE: The mail server at ds.internic.net can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e., documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
      how to manipulate these messages.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version
of the Internet-Draft.
