 A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
 directories.

Title : Light-weight Flow Admission Protocol Specification
                   Version 1.0
       Author(s) : P. Amsden, J. Amweg, P. Calato,
                   S. Bensley, G. Lyons
       Filename : draft-rfced-info-amsden-00.txt
       Pages : 19
       Date : 02/19/1997

Light-weight Flow Admission Protocol, LFAP, allows an external Flow
Admission Service (FAS) to manage flow admission at the switch, allowing
flexible Flow Admission Services to be deployed by a vendor or customer
without changes to, or undue burden on, the switch.

Specifically, this document specifies the protocol between the switch
Connection Control Entity (CCE) and the external FAS. Using LFAP, a Flow
Admission Service can: allow or disallow flows, define the parameters under
which a given flow is to operate (operating policy) or, redirect the flow
to an alternate destination. The FAS may also maintain details of current
or historical flows for billing, capacity planning and other purposes.

Send a message to: mailserv@ds.internic.net. In the body type:
     "FILE /internet-drafts/draft-rfced-info-amsden-00.txt".

NOTE: The mail server at ds.internic.net can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e., documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
      how to manipulate these messages.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version
of the Internet-Draft.
