A New Internet Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
directories.

       Title : RFC 1327 tutorial
       Author(s) : J. Houttuin
       Filename : draft-houttuin-rfc1327-tutor-00.txt, .ps
       Pages : 34

This tutorial was produced to help RFC 1327 novices, such as new
gateway managers, to find their way into this complicated subject.
End-users are encouraged to read the COSINE MHS pocket user guide
[pug] instead. The COSINE MHS managers agreed that this tutorial is
needed because it is often felt that the learning curve for this
subject is frustratingly steep.

The introduction is general enough to be read not only by gateway
managers, but also by those who are new to e-mail in general. Parts of
this introduction can be skipped as needed. To a certain extent, this
document can also be used as a reference guide to X.400 <-> RFC 822
gatewaying. Wherever there is a lack of detail in the tutorial, it
will at least refer to the corresponding chapters in other documents.
As such, it shields the RFC 1327 novice from too much detail.
