Hi:

    It isn't clear to me what we're standardizing here.

    Presumably NOVELL (owner of IPX) not the IETF gets to say what they'd
like the general IPX header compression algorithm to be, yes?

    More generally, this draft looks to me like the document one points to.
Viz: when a new PPP spec or amendment comes out, it would say "IPX headers,
if compressed, are to be compressed according to RFC 1XXX which the
the Compressing IPX Headers RFC.

    Please note, I have no complaints about the technical content, merely
trying to puzzle out the notion it should become an IETF standard.
