The IESG has approved the Internet-Draft "Definition of the URL MIME External-Body Access-Type" <draft-ietf-mailext-acc-url-01.txt> as a Proposed Standard. This document is the product of the Mail Extensions Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Keith Moore and Harald Alvestrand. Technical Summary This document describes how to use the MIME external-body body part to point at resources whose location can be given as an Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Working Group Summary There was significant discussion over whether it was important that the spec give the possibility to give multiple URLs or not. There was also discussion on the best way to give long URLs in mail headers; the suggested solution seems workable. Protocol Quality The spec has been reviewed for the IESG by Harald Alvestrand.
