  The IESG has approved the Internet-Draft "INTERNET MESSAGE ACCESS
  PROTOCOL - VERSION 4" <draft-crispin-imap-base-05.txt> as a Proposed
  Standard.

  The IESG also approved publication of the following two documents as
  Informational RFCs:

  1. IMAP4 COMPATIBILITY WITH IMAP2BIS
     <draft-crispin-imap-compat-00.txt>
  2. INTERNET MESSAGE ACCESS PROTOCOL - OBSOLETE SYNTAX
     <draft-crispin-imap-obsolete-00.txt>

Technical Summary

 The first document changes the IMAP4 protocol slightly to correct a
 problem with the PARTIAL primitive (by replacing it). At the same
 time, new functionality to access parts of a MIME message including
 headers were added to support the multipart/signed body part in an
 useful manner. The protocol defined by this doc is called
 "IMAP4rev1".

Working Group Summary

 Terry Gray claims consensus in the IMAP community for the changes. No
 comments on the Last Call have arrived.

Protocol Quality

 Erik Huizer has reviewed these documents for the Directorate. The
 responsible reviewer for the IESG is Harald Alvestrand.
