seems to me that
  o spf is still used, whether we think it is a good idea or not
  o spf is using the spf rrtype
  o we don't shoot an rrtype which is still being used
  o overloading txt with a whole lot of things we don't like is
    stupid++ for soooo many reasons

if you don't like spf, then *convince* folk to use something better.
until then, find something better to do with your copious spare time.
