 A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
 directories.

Title : Tag Switching Architecture Overview

This document provides an overview of a novel approach to network layer
packet forwarding, called tag switching. The two main components of the
tag switching architecture - forwarding and control - are described.
Forwarding is accomplished using simple label-swapping techniques, while
the existing network layer routing protocols plus mechanisms for binding
and distributing tags are used for control. Tag switching can retain the
scaling properties of IP, and can help improve the scalability of IP
networks. While tag switching does not rely on ATM, it can
straightforwardly be applied to ATM switches. A range of tag switching
applications and deployment scenarios are described.

Send a message to: mailserv@ds.internic.net. In the body type:
     "FILE /internet-drafts/draft-rfced-info-rekhter-00.txt".

NOTE: The mail server at ds.internic.net can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e., documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
      how to manipulate these messages.

For questions, please mail to Internet-Drafts@ietf.org

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version
of the Internet-Draft.
