A new version of the IDPR Protocol Specification (01) was submitted to
the Internet Drafts. The previous last call pointed to an earlier,
incomplete version.

The IESG is considering IDPR for Proposed Standard. IDPR is defined in
the Internet Drafts "An Architecture for Inter-Domain Policy Routing"
<draft-ietf-idpr-architecture-04 and "Inter-Domain Policy Routing
Protocol Specification and Usage: Version 1"
<draft-ietf-idpr-specv1-01>. An executive summary of the protocol is
available in the Internet Draft <draft-ietf-idpr-summary-00>.

The objective of IDPR is to construct and maintain routes, between
source and destination administrative domains, that provide user
traffic with the requested services within the constraints stipulated
for the domains transited. The IDPR architecture is designed to
accommodate an internetwork containing tens of thousands of
administrative domains with heterogeneous service requirements and
restrictions.

The IESG plans to issue a recommendation in the next few weeks, and
solicits final comments on this elevation. Please send any comments
to the iesg@nri.reston.va.us, or ietf@isi.edu mailing lists by May 18th.
