Dear IAB and IESG Security Specialists,

I am writing to inquire about the following I-D, which Ran Atkinson
suggests should be published an an Informational RFC:

*********************
INTERNET DRAFT Neil Haller,
draft-haller-auth-requirements-03.txt Bellcore
20 March 1994 Randall Atkinson,
                                                       Naval Research Laboratory

                   Internet Authentication Guidelines
*********************

This draft has not been discussed in the PSRG, and I do not recall that it
was discussed in the SAAG? I don't know what has taken place in the cat
WG.

What is the status of this draft, as far as the Security Area Director is
concerned?

What is its relationship to other security documents that have been
published or are being developed in the IAB complex of WGs and RGs?

It does not seem to me that this document is either thorough enough or
standard enough to be published as an RFC at this time, although possibly I
would reconsider that opinion if it had a different title.

-Rob-

P.S. You all have fun in Seattle, and I will see you Canada this summer.
