Dear directorate members,

Thank you for those of you who were able to join this meeting.

Welcome to our new members: Suzanne Woolf, Wassim Haddad, Juan Carlos Zúñiga, Bob Hinden, Ole Troan, Brian Haberman, Suresh Krishnan, Tommy Pauly, and Tim Winters. They will bring new eyes and additional expertise.

Beside some WG news shared by their respective chairs, we also discussed about the directorate ‘charter’
https://datatracker.ietf.org/group/intdir/about/

This charter was written a long time ago when the goals of a directorate were not well known. Therefore, this ‘charter’ should be refreshed and we are looking for volunteers (esp new pairs of eyes) to have a review of it (and shorten it). Nothing urgent, this can be done April or May. Suzanne kindly accepted to have a first draft.

We also discussed on how to provide some benefits (beyond the fame ;-) ) for members:

  * In the datatracker IETF profile: adding how many reviews done since last IETF meeting, ...
  * Having members working for/with other SDO or industry alliances (e.g., WBA, IEEE, etc.) to quickly report what is new and interesting for INT area to this pre-IETF calls
  *   ...

What do members think about the above ?

About the reviews, it would be nice for all members to add to their profiles any specific topic they want to review (e.g., DNS, IPv6, ... or ‘any’ as a wildcard) + the frequency (monthly, weely, ...). The chairs (Bernie and Carlos) will try to respect those wishes. The chairs and myself would like also to stress that when a review request is sent to you, please accept or decline quickly, this will allow for rerouting the request to another member.

Finally, for the WG chairs, there is always the possibility in the data tracker to ask for an ‘early review‘ by any directorate (so also YANG doctors); e.g., before a WGLC.

Thank you in advance for your continued participation

Regards

-éric -erik -bernie -carlos
