When we concluded the IPv6 WG and formed 6MAN, the decision was made to
keep using the ipv6@ietf.org mailing list. This allowed list members to
retain all of their existing filters and reduced the amount of work
needed by the list administrators. A few months ago an AD who shall
remain nameless assumed that the WG name and the mailing list name were
the same and complained when e-mail sent to 6man@ietf.org bounced.

We then asked Glen to create an alias that would re-direct any mail sent
to 6man@ to ipv6@ to avoid such events from occurring.

Apologies for the inconvenience. It never dawned on me to send mail to
the list explaining the existence of this alias.

I am curious as to what message caused the problem. My filters have not
failed on any recent message to the list.
