Thomas,

The problem is IMHO the following: How to assign an IPv6 UGA to CPE hosts attached to a BMA LAN (usually Ethernet or Wi-Fi) that is in turn connected via a CPE router through an NBMA link (cable modem or DSL) to an ISP router that provides Internet access. Currently, there are two methods: SLAAC and DHCPv6. Each has its own problems. Thoughts?

Is there a problem statement somewhere that describes the actual
problem for which a solution is needed?

Has this been put into an ID, for instance?

I haven't been able to get my head around the actual problem from the
(few) emails I've seen.
