I'm pleased to announce that the Applied Networking Research Prize
awards for IETF 118 will go to:

**Siva Kesava Reddy Kakarla** for his work on verifying the correctness
of name servers (rescheduled from IETF 117):

Varghese, “SCALE: Automatically Finding RFC Compliance Bugs in DNS
Nameservers” Proceedings of the USENIX Symposium on Networked Systems
Design and Implementation (NSDI) 2022.

**Dennis Trautwein** for his work on on content-addressable peer-to-peer
storage:

   - Dennis Trautwein, Aravindh Raman, Gareth Tyson, Ignacio Castro,
Will Scott, Moritz Schubotz, Bela Gipp, and Yiannis Psaras, “Design
and Evaluation of IPFS: A Storage Layer for the Decentralized Web”
Proceedings of the ACM SIGCOMM Conference 2022.

**Ram Sundara Raman** for his work on identifying and locating
in-network censorship devices:

   - Ram Sundara Raman, Mona Wang, Jakub Dalek, Jonathan Mayer, and Roya
Ensafi “Network Measurement Methods for Locating and Examining
Censorship Devices” Proceedings of ACM CoNEXT 2022.

The presentations will take place during the IRTF Open Meeting at IETF
118 in Prague in November 2023. A live stream will be available at
https://www.ietf.org/live/ for those unable to attend in person.

The Applied Networking Research Prize recognises the best recent
results in applied networking research, interesting new research ideas
of potential relevance to the Internet standards community, and
people who are likely to have an impact on Internet standards
and technologies in the future.

The ANRP is supported by the Internet Society and the IRTF, and
sponsored by Comcast and NBC Universal.
