The Coding for efficient NetWork Communications Research Group (NWCRG) in the IRTF has concluded.

The mailing list will remain open.

Note from the IRTF Chair:

With the recent publication of RFC 9426, describing the BATS Coding
Scheme for Multi-hop Data Transport, the Coding for efficient NetWork
Communications Research Group (NWCRG) has concluded its work and will
close.

In the ten years it's been operating, the research group has had wide
ranging discussions and has successfully developed a taxonomy of
coding techniques, explored the applicability of network coding to a
number of different areas, and published RFCs describing a number of
experimental network coding schemes. Congratulations to the chairs,
Victor Firoiu, Brian Adamson, Vincent Roca, and Marie-Jose Montpetit,
document authors, and other contributors for their successful work.

Colin Perkins
IRTF Chair
