Hi Erik and Eric,

I have changed the direction of the IPMON (IPv6 Mobile Object Networking)
BoF
from the IPv6 over 5G V2X, Vehicular Neighbor Discovery, and Vehicular
Mobility
Management into the Management and Monitoring of Mobile Objects like
Vehicles, UAM (Urban Air Mobility) Vehicles, and Drones.
I have changed the name of the IPMON into the MONM (Mobile Object Network
Management).
This MONM will use NETCONF/RESTCONF/YANG for the management of monitoring
of the mobile objects.
Here is the framework draft for the MONM where Software-Defined Vehicle
(SDV) is a major mobile object:
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-jeong-opsawg-intent-based-sdv-framework-00

Here is the IETF-119 MONM Hackathon Project that introduces the Open-Source
Project for the MONM,
which made a 5G-based MONM testbed:
https://github.com/IETF-Hackathon/ietf119-project-presentations/blob/main/IETF-119-MONM-Intent-Based-Network-Management-Project.pdf

I want to get your advice about how the MONM can move forwards to be a BoF
by having a non-WG-forming BoF
this coming IETF 120 in Vancouver this July.

For the draft on the IPv6 over 5G V2X, I would like to make it be adopted
by the 6MAN WG so that
the 3GPP can take advantage of the IPv6 for their 5G V2X:
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-jeong-6man-ipv6-over-5g-v2x/

I CC Bob so that he may suggest the next step for this draft.

Also, let me introduce a side meeting for MONM.
I have set up a side meeting for Mobile Object Network Management (MONM)
from 3pm to 4:30pm the coming Wednesday (March 20) :
https://wiki.ietf.org/en/meeting/119/sidemeetings

Here is the Side Meeting Information:
---------------------------------------------------
<Mobile Object Network Management (MONM) BoF>

o IETF-119 MONM Side Meeting
- When: 3pm-4:30pm on March 20, 2024 (Wednesday)
- Where: M9 (Location: Mezzanine Level)

o Goal of MONM
- Mobile Objects (MOs) are popularly engaged in our lives, such as
terrestrial vehicles (e.g., car, motorcycle, and scooter) and aerial
vehicles (e.g., Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and Urban Air Mobility (UAM)).
- The MONM group aims at specifying the problem statement on the network
management of Mobile Objects (MOs)
in terms of the configuration and monitoring of network services (e.g.,
network prefix configuration), security services (e.g., firewall, web
filter, and DDoS attack mitigator), and application services (e.g.,
navigator and safe-driving assistant App).
- This group will make a framework and interfaces for MOs with NETCONF and
RESTCONF along with YANG data models.
- This group will specify the following items:
. Mobile Object Network Management (MONM): Problem Statement and Use Cases
. A Framework of Mobile Object Network Management (MONM)
. YANG Data Models for the MONM Interfaces

o Agenda
- Agenda Bash
. Chairs: Jaehoon (Paul) Jeong and Yiwen (Chris) Shen (SKKU)
 . Time: 5 min

- IETF-119 MONM Hackathon Project
 . Presenter: Yoseop Ahn (SKKU)

Next Steps for MONM BoF
---------------------------------------------------

I CC the IPWAVE WG mailing list to track the IPMON activity.

Thanks.

Best Regards,
Paul
