Hi WG, Chairs,

As a co-author of this draft, I believe this draft addresses an important
aspect of network inventory management over the passive infrastructure, and
I support the adoption of this work.

Passive inventory provides visibility into the passive infrastructure
within network inventory systems and enables critical operational use
cases, including service assurance, root cause analysis, and capacity
planning. In addition, this draft is intended to serve as a foundational
model that can be extended by other standards organizations and industry
bodies, where domain-specific extensions are being developed (e.g. ODN for
access domains).

While there are still open issues regarding the scope of passive inventory
and the modeling enhancements needed to represent passive devices, fibers,
and cables, I believe these issues can be addressed through the normal WG
review and development process.

I therefore support the adoption of this work by the WG.

Best,
Aihua
