Dear LAKE WG,

Disco is a framework for designing modern end-to-end security
protocols; it can be roughly described as a combination of the Noise
and Strobe protocol frameworks:

https://www.discocrypto.com
https://embeddeddisco.com
https://noiseprotocol.org
https://strobe.sourceforge.io

Together with a few colleagues, I developed an optimized prototype of
the Disco protocol for 16-bit MSP430 microcontrollers and did some
(preliminary) performance evaluations of the computational part of
this Disco prototype on a Zolertia Z1 device:

https://orbilu.uni.lu/bitstream/10993/59880/1/MSPN2023.pdf

More concretely, we evaluated the execution time, code size and RAM
footprint of the computational part of a full Noise-NK handshake on a
16-bit MSP430F2617 microcontroller. I assume many of you are familiar
with Noise due to the WG's work on EDHOC.

With this email I'd like to inquire whether our Disco prototype and
the implementation results are of interest for LAKE. If yes then I
could give a 15-20 minute presentation at IETF119. Besides presenting
the Disco prototype and the results we achieved, I also would like to
use the presentation to ascertain whether there is any interest in a
post-quantum version of the Disco protocol.

Kind regards,

Johann
