12th TMA PhD School - Traffic Management and Analysis at All Layers

Co-located with TMA 2024 Conference
Dresden, Germany (in-person event), hosted by the Dresden University of Technology
May 21-22, 2024
https://tma.ifip.org/2024/phd-school/

Application deadline: April 19th at 23:59 CEST
Tentative decision notification: April 24th

We will offer a number of travel grants to PhD students.
Working together with SIGCOMM, this year we will in particular stimulate participation from emerging underrepresented regions, supporting students from Africa and Southeast-Asia, besides other regions and underrepresented communities.

The 12th TMA PhD School is organized by the Dresden University of Technology, together with the 8th Network Traffic Measurement and Analysis Conference.

Under the theme “Traffic Management and Analysis at All Layers”, the 12th TMA PhD School will include 4 tutorials, by 5 distinct lecturers, over a 2 days program (https://tma.ifip.org/2024/phd-school-program/).
Lectures are accompanied by related practical lab sessions, where students have the opportunity to put into practice learned notions.

+ The eBPF Adventure: Exploring Linux’s Hidden Superpowers, by Sebastiano Miano (Politecnico di Milano) and Angelo Tulumello (CNIT NAAM Lab).
+ Man-in-the-middle attacks against IoT devices, by Vincenzo De Angelis (University of Calabria).
+ Network Traffic Analysis via Machine and Deep Learning: From Theory to Practice, by Antonio Montieri (University of Napoli Federico II).
+ Trace the Wumpus, by Johann Schlamp (Leitwert GmbH).

REGISTRATION ARE NOW OPEN, you can apply at https://crp.info.ucl.ac.be/tma2024phd/
Check further details related to the application to the PhD school and travel grants at https://tma.ifip.org/2024/phd-school/
The price for registration for the TMA 2024 PhD school is EUR 250,00. This fee will be levied on all attending students, also those receiving travel grants.

To foster interaction with the TMA community, students are encouraged to join the TMA Conference in the days following the PhD School.
PhD students participating to the school are invited to join the main TMA conference free of charge (except for those participants authors of an accepted paper).

As the TMA PhD school is popular, we encourage students to register as early as possible.
Our goal is to admit as many students as possible, but we do note that we have limited room availability.

TMA PhD School co-chairs:
+ Antonia Affinito, University of Twente, The Netherlands
+ Quentin De Coninck, University of Mons, Belgium
+ Markus Wutzler, TU Dresden, Germany
