Hi Murray,

The published specification section for application/vnd.jupiter.jdx+json (from yesterday) needs to be replaced with this:

Published specification: JDX (Jupiter Data eXchange) Specification, Edition 1.0 (draft). Fernando
Daniel García, Agilmind SRL, 2026.
https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23137511

thanks,
Amanda

===========

Media type name: application

Media subtype name: vnd.jupiter.jdx+json

Required parameters: N/A

Optional parameters: N/A

Encoding considerations: binary

Security considerations: JDX documents are JSON texts (RFC 8259, I-JSON profile RFC 7493) and share the security considerations of application/json (RFC 8259, Section 12). They contain no active or executable content, and no links need to be dereferenced to interpret them; receivers must not fetch URLs found in a document.

JDX documents carry personal data of authors, publishers and other rights holders (names, national and tax identifiers, addresses, contact data). They therefore need confidentiality in transit and at rest. The format itself does not encrypt; confidentiality must be provided by the transport (for example TLS or an encrypted channel) and by the receiver's storage controls.

Integrity and authenticity are provided by a detached JSON Web Signature (RFC 7515, ES256) computed over the exact bytes of the document and delivered alongside it. The signature binds the declaration identifier, revision, SHA-256 digest and size of the document. Receivers verify it against a signed list of authorized issuer keys and must reject documents whose signature does not verify.

Receivers should bound nesting depth (the specification limits it to 64 levels), document size and the number of reported errors to resist denial of service through hostile input, and must reject duplicate member names.

Interoperability considerations: A JDX document declares its schema version in the top-level member "jdx" (major.minor). Minor versions only add optional members or values to open lists. Each minor version has an open JSON Schema (draft 2020-12) that tolerates unknown members and a strict one that rejects them outside the "extensions" object. Text is UTF-8 without BOM. Percentages are exchanged as JSON numbers with at most four decimals and must be compared as exact decimals, never as binary floating point.

Published specification: JDX (Jupiter Data eXchange) Specification, Edition 1.0 (draft), Agilmind
SRL, 2026.

Applications which use this media: Exchange of musical work registration data (works, rights holders, shares, agreements and the hashes of related documents) between music publishers and collective management organizations (CMOs), and between their software systems. The first producer is the Jupiter platform of Agilmind SRL.

Fragment identifier considerations: Same as for application/json (RFC 8259): none defined.

Restrictions on usage: None.

Provisional registration? (standards tree only): No

Additional information:

1. Deprecated alias names for this type: N/A
2. Magic number(s): N/A
3. File extension(s): .jdx.json
4. Macintosh file type code: N/A
5. Object Identifiers: N/A

General Comments: Each document is accompanied by a detached JWS in compact serialization (application/jose), in a file named after the document with the ".jws" extension appended.
