Hi all,
As you may recall from the MIMI meetings at IETF, a small design team
agreed to go off and try to produce a document set that would be a good
candidate for WG adoption. The design team had an initial meeting on
Thursday morning of the IETF week, and intends to work to the following
plan:
- The design team intends to produce documents covering the following
topics:
- "arch" - The overall design of the system, how the other components
fit together
- "transport" - How protocol information is delivered among
participating entities
- "signaling" - How the servers involved implement user-level
operations / policy
- "ds" - How MLS is used to provide security in the context of the
transport / signaling
- An initial draft of architecture document should be published in late
August
- The remaining drafts should be available in mid-September
- ... with the idea of proposing a call for adoption at a late-September
interim meeting
This email is just a heads-up to the working group. No action is required
at the moment, but keep an eye out for more news in the coming weeks!
