I think the exchange below is a good example of the bad consequences of
setting up a moderators team that is separate from normal management and
appeal process of the IETF.  I cannot honestly believe the claims that
the new processes will result in less bans than before.  My perception
is that the new processes is catered towards being able to silence
discenters without them having any normal appeals process within a
standard WG procedure.  The trend here is to expand the definition of
"disruptive" to include disagreement over technical (/legal) matters.
