I think that is a price worth paying to clear this up.

There is another alternative, but one which will take a while longer and that is to write a standalone document on XL and not muddle it up in label administrative procedure and naming semantics.

Indeed, given that we have all the text, it would not be difficult to craft three very short and to the point drafts that each did a single job.
