Folks

This just came in from the main IETF mailing list. The only
difference between this version of the internet draft and the
previous one is the IESG requested that the introduction
specifically state that the docuemnt was for black and
white images. Im hoping that they will soon approve it
as a proposed standard since they had no other objections
to it besides that.

A Revised Internet Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
directories. This draft is a work item of the
Network Fax Working Group of the IETF.

Title : A File Format for the Exchange of Images in the
                   Internet
Author(s) : Alan Katz, Danny Cohen
       Filename : draft-ietf-netfax-netimage-03.txt
       Pages : 23

This document defines a standard file format for the exchange of
fax-like black and white images within the Internet. The purpose of
this document is to define a standard file format for exchange of
black and white images using the Internet. Since many organizations
have already started to accumulate and exchange scanned documents it
is important to reach agreement about an interchange file format in
order to promote and facilitate the exchange and distribution of such
documents. These images may originate from scanners, software, or
facsimile (fax) machines. They may be manipulated by software,
communicated, shared, duplicated, displayed, printed by laser
printers, or faxed.
