Nayatel Rolls Out IPv6 [news release]

... IPv4 uses 32-bit (232) addresses which allows for connectivity of nearly 4.3 billion IPs – that was mostly used up by 2015. Fortunately, the IETF foresaw this issue in 1998 and created IPv6, based on a 128-bit (2128) addressing scheme. Quad9 Cybersecurity Trends and Insights | January 2023

NDSS Symposium 2023: 30 Years of Cutting Edge Network Security Research

The Network and Distributed Systems Security (NDSS) Symposium reaches an important milestone this year, with the 30th edition of the event taking place from 27 February to 3 March 2023 in San Diego, USA. The Internet Society hosted the initial Privacy and Security Research Group (PSRG) Workshop on Network and Distributed System Security 10-12 February 1993. This evolved into the Network and Distributed Systems Security Symposium and has been proudly hosted by the Internet Society in San Diego in the 30 years since.

Majority of Dutch domains and internet users have DNSSEC security

In the Netherlands, DNSSEC is already in widespread use. Nearly 60 per cent of all .nl domains are now DNSSEC-enabled. What's more, roughly 60 per cent of all queries received by the authoritative name servers for .nl are from validating resolvers around the world. And roughly 60 per cent of Dutch internet users are utilising validating resolvers.

nl: Two-way path tracing on the internet with trace-ssh

We present trace-ssh, a script that we developed for network geeks like us to get details on the return paths of active connections, which complements the details on the forward path that traceroute provides. Trace-ssh will eventually be replaced by a more generic solution such as the Trace Route project, but until that time we think it will be useful for network debugging and educational purposes, amongst other things.
