Hey,

I use Redhat 7.3 with NFSv4-patch release two and Redhat 9 with NFSv4-patch
release one and have troubles with idmap.

All Users are beeing mapped to "nobody" which leads to permission problems.

All Useraccounts are stored in active directory. when a new user (not a
local one) logs on to the linuxbox, in my case testuser, the new
homedirectory (pam_mkhomedir) is created by the user nobody. And so the new
user (testuser) isn't able to log on because he doesn't have permissions to
the new folder.

attached you will find my configuration files

Does anyone of you know what the problem could be

/etc/idmapd.conf:
*****************

[General]

Verbosity = 0
Pipefs-Directory = /var/lib/rpc_pipes/nfs
Domain = singlesignon.net

[Mapping]

#Nobody-User = nobody
#Nobody-Group = nobody

/etc/rc.d/rpc.idmapd:
*********************

OPTIONS="-d"

ps -ax | grep idmapd:
*********************

713 ?        S      0:00 /usr/sbin/rpc.idmapd -d -p /var/lib/rpc_pipes/nfs

thanks for your help!

Oliver
