NMOP was established as a Working Group building on ongoing experiments, positioned between OPSAWG and NMRG.
Accordingly, the charter has focused on experimental areas, including:

   - NETCONF/YANG Push integration with Apache Kafka and time-series databases
   - Anomaly detection and incident management
   - Deployment and usage of YANG topology models (e.g., “Digital Map” modeling)
   - Exploration of updates to RFC 3535bis (operator requirements for network management solutions)
After a few years of operation, we would like to gather community feedback on the direction and effectiveness of the WG.

 Key Questions
Scope & Direction

   - Does the current scope align with your operational priorities?
   - Are important topics missing?
   - Should NMOP remain experiment‑focused or move toward more concrete standardization?

Outputs & Value

   - Are NMOP outputs (drafts, discussions, hackathons) useful in practice?
   - What types of outputs would be more valuable (e.g., BCPs, models, architectures)?

Participation

   - How easy is it to engage in NMOP?
   - What barriers exist to contributing (time, clarity, entry points, etc.)?

“Bring Your Incidents”

   - Are these sessions useful?
   - Should they be expanded or better targeted?

Working Mode

   - Is the WG achieving a good balance between operators, vendors, and researchers?
   - Are meetings and discussions effective?

Success Criteria

   - What would success for NMOP look like in the next 1–2 years?

Additional Feedback

   - Are there important topics or questions we have missed?

This feedback will help guide future direction, including potential charter updates.
Discussion on the NMOP mailing list is encouraged; direct feedback to the chairs and/or ADs is also welcome.
Regards,Benoit & Reshad.
