[openpgp] WGLC for draft-ietf-openpgp-crypto-refresh-06.txt

Hi folks,

The chairs would like to start a working group last call
for draft-ietf-openpgp-crypto-refresh-06.txt. [1] Given the
timing of the upcoming IETF meeting, we'd like to get input
on that from now until July 3rd (to allow time for a -07
to maybe be emitted before IETF-114).

So, please review [1] and start discussion on this list
where you think it's needed. And please bear in mind that
although -06 represents quite a bit of work from the
design team, that version is *input* to the WG, so it's
entirely fair game to disagree with what's in -06 (for
sound technical reasons of course:-)

It's also ok to create issues using the gitlab thing [2]
if you prefer, but please do send a mail to the list for
anything that's not obviously purely editorial even if
you create gitlab issues (or merge requests).

As we see how discussion goes, the design team plan to
try turn WGLC topics into issues on gitlab so we can track
them and structure discussions after WGLC on the list and/or
at IETF-114. (If you see we've missing doing that for
something, please feel free to do it yourself or drop a
mail to the chairs letting us know we should do it.) I'd
expect one pattern there might be that someone sends a
mail (like Werner's from earlier), we see how the discussion
goes for a day or two and then create issues accordingly
for topics that need tracking. (Again, to use Werner's
mail as an example, I could see us creating two issues
there: one relating to GCM and one relating to brainpool
curves.)

One note about the "last" in WGLC - this will not really
be the last time people get to discuss the draft, but we'll
stick with the term anyway:-) Depending on the level of
change required for -06, there may well be another WGLC
after those changes are applied, but we'll see how it
goes. But, getting done is also good, so at some stage
(if there appears to be consensus for that), as chairs
we might ask to restrict WGLC reviews to the changes
since the previous version. (IOW - now is a great time
to review the entire draft and/or get someone else to
to that.)

Lastly, if you do review -06 in the next few weeks and
think it's ready, please do also send a mail to the list
saying so - as chairs that's really helpful in evaluating
whether we may have rough consensus on the draft.

or so, so will post that separately (without a co-chair
hat).
