Subject: new version of mapping tables goes into effect today, Jan 6th

Hi, this message is for U.S. X.400 managers. The Cosine MHS Project
Team has released the new version of the RFC1327 mapping tables. The
new tables are to go into effect today, Jan 6, 1993.

In PP, these correspond to the or2rfc, rfc2or, and rfc1148gate tables.
These tables are internationally coordinated by the Cosine MHS Project
Team. If you are operating an X.400 to SMTP email gateway, it is
important to use the current version of the tables.

I have made the new tables available via anonymous ftp on
mhs-relay.cs.wisc.edu. To get the new version of the tables:

    ftp mhs-relay.cs.wisc.edu
login as "anonymous", password is guest
    cd pub/map.tables/tables.1993.Jan.06
    prompt
    mget rfc1148*

If you prefer the PP format of the tables

    ftp mhs-relay.cs.wisc.edu
login as "anonymous", password is guest
    cd pub/map.tables/tables.1993.Jan.06/pp
    prompt
    mget *

I am including the file pub/map.tables/README below.

You can email the Cosine MHS Project Team at project-team@cosine-mhs.switch.ch
or c=ch;admd=arcom;prmd=switch;o=switch;ou=cosine-mhs;s=project-team.

Cheers,

allan

This directory is the parent directory of directories where
RFC987/1148/1327 mapping tables are stored. These subdirectories are
named by the date that the tables are to go into effect, as
tables.YYYY.Month.DAY. Cd to the directory you want, and grab the
tables.

Each directory contains the "standard" international rfc1148 mapping
tables as three files:

    rfc1148-mapping1
    rfc1148-mapping2
    rfc1148-gate

Each directory also contains a subdirectory "pp" with the PP format of
the tables:

    pp/or2rfc
    pp/rfc2or
    pp/rfc1148gate

For more information about the tables, email pp@cs.wisc.edu or
