This document explains how the PCP Server in the Evolved Packet Core (EPC) maps the fields in PCP FLOWDATA option to 3GPP QCI, GBR values and is also compliant with the 3GPP's network-triggered QoS policy enforcement model. Comments and Suggestions are welcome. --Authors. -----Original Message----- From: internet-drafts@ietf.org [mailto:internet-drafts@ietf.org] Sent: Monday, July 29, 2013 7:28 PM To: Tirumaleswar Reddy (tireddy); Reinaldo Penno (repenno); Bill VerSteeg; Bill Ver Steeg; Mohamed Boucadair; Dan Wing (dwing) Subject: New Version Notification for draft-penno-pcp-mobile-qos-00.txt A new version of I-D, draft-penno-pcp-mobile-qos-00.txt has been successfully submitted by Reinaldo Penno and posted to the IETF repository. Filename: draft-penno-pcp-mobile-qos Revision: 00 Title: PCP Usage for Quality of Service (QoS) in Mobile Networks Creation date: 2013-07-29 Group: Individual Submission Number of pages: 13 URL: http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-penno-pcp-mobile-qos-00.txt Status: http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-penno-pcp-mobile-qos Htmlized: http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-penno-pcp-mobile-qos-00 Abstract: There are challenges to request quality of service for an application or network flow that is not part of a mobile network's Evolved Packet Core (EPC). This document addresses this issue by defining a mechanism to signal the desired characteristics of a flow to the Mobile Network from a User Equipment (UE) using Port Control Protocol (PCP). The signaled characteristics allow the Mobile Network to enforce appropriate policies such as prioritize that flow accordingly and trigger dedicated bearer activation or bearer modification procedure. Please note that it may take a couple of minutes from the time of submission until the htmlized version and diff are available at tools.ietf.org. The IETF Secretariat
