Folks,

An experimental internet-wide Pip testbed (that Paul calls the
Pbone) has been up and running for nearly a week now. About thirteen sites
from Asia, Europe, North America and Australia agreed to be part of this
experiment; most of them have already tuned in. The topology of the
Pbone is available from pub/pip/pbone.map.ps and pub/pip/pbone.geo.ps
on thumper.bellcore.com.

At Amsterdam, we'll be demo-ing traceroutes and pings to different
hosts on the Pbone.

We'll also be demonstrating dynamic host address re-configuration.
We show that a host's TCP connections stay alive even when its
Pip address is changed. Because Pip addresses are LAN-based, address
re-configuration is achieved by simply implementing router discovery.
