New versions of the Time Stamp and Notary drafts are now available. They
have again been submitted as independent drafts, since the PKIX charter
still does not include these topics.

The Time Stamp Protocols draft is available at:
ftp://ftp.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-adams-time-stamp-02.txt
Some of the changes include:
-removal of requester name and TSA name from time stamp requests
-inclusion of tsaFreeData field in response to hold supplementary (e.g.
billing) information
-inclusion of section listing possibly relevant patents

The "Notary" draft and protocol has been renamed. It became apparent at the
PKIX meetings that calling this protocol a "Notary" protocol caused some
confusion about the purpose of the "Notary" and the functions that it was
supposed to perform. We have renamed it the Data Certification Server. We
feel that this name is a little bit more descriptive of what this server
does. It certifies data for later use in support of non-repudiation.
The Data Certification Server draft is available at:
ftp://ftp.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-adams-dcs-00.txt
Some of the changes include:
-extension capability included in both request and responses
-allows validation of multiple target certificates each with associated
trust chains
-improved support for certificate path validation
-inclusion of section listing possibly relevant patents

As always, comments are welcome.
