Thomas and Henk wrote comments to my PR<https://github.com/ietf-rats-wg/draft-ietf-rats-uccs/pull/18> proposing the addition of UJCS.

Thomas wrote:

This was bad grammar on my part and has been fixed.

I guess there's more than one thing that is defined here:

a CBOR tag for UCCS
the CDDL for the claims-set
the glue CDDL to plug UCS into EAT

All three of these must be defined for UCCS (for the third, it’s the glue to plug in just UCCS).
- The first is partially there now — only partially there because the CDDL doesn’t have tagged and untagged definitions
- The claims-set is there
- The CDDL glue for UCCS in EAT is missing and MUST be added.

So this is not really a comment on the addition of UJCS. Just a (correct) observation about the document.


Henk responded:
If the WG really is interested in extending the scope of this document, the building blocks Thomas illustrated must be reflected in a corresponding document structure.

Well, umm, while this looks like a comment about UJCS from context, it’s not really, because these three things are necessary for UCCS. If they really imply a restructure of the document, then that restructure needs to be done now whether or not UJCS is added.


So net-net for me is that Thomas' and Henk’s comments don’t really carry any weight against my proposed change for UJCS. I’ll ask again, what’s wrong with my proposed change that is basically done, ready now and solves other problems with UCCS that have to be solved?
